THE JURY in the trial of a pensioner accused of raping a mentally ill woman has been sent home until Monday.
Fred Tolcher, aged 71, has been released on bail after a judge adjourned his case at Plymouth Crown Court.
Judge Ian Lawrie told the jury that a large amount of background medical material about the complainant had been uncovered.
He said that it had to be reviewed by two doctors assisting the trial.
