CITY police officers say new recruits should not have to have a degree in order to join the force.
There is currently no service-wide minimum qualification for new officers, but the College of Policing has suggested the job is now of "degree-level complexity".
The college is consulting on the plans, which if approved could run as a pilot in 2017 and be fully adopted by 2019.
