A MAN who left a doorman with a brain injury after a serious assault has narrowly avoided jail.
Peter Nurse, aged 33, pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm after attacking a member of security staff at Revolution bar, in the city centre.
He appeared at Plymouth Crown Court yesterday to be sentenced, with his bag already packed for jail.
The court was shown CCTV footage of the attack taking place on the bar's dance floor on January 12 last year.
