This week a warning was issued after a woman who picked up a £20 note from the floor of a shop was handed a criminal record and a fine.
Nicole Bailey was convicted of theft, after pocketing a £20 note she found at a One Stop convenience shop. It seems odd, to fall foul of the law for picking up seemingly lost cash from the floor.
But she now not only has a criminal record, but also had to fork out £175 in court costs and charges.
