SUPPORTERS of Sgt Alexander Blackman gathered for a rally in Birmingham before his legal team submitted fresh evidence in a bid to clear his name.
Sgt Blackman, aged 41, is serving an eight-year jail term for murdering an Afghan insurgent in Helmand Province in 2011.
On Wednesday his wife Claire was joined by 1,000 ex-Marines and ex-Army servicemen for a rally in Eastside City Park, Birmingham, before submitting an application to the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC).
