A MAN accused of eight counts of rape against two women is to face a judge and jury in February.
John Evans, aged 52, allegedly abused the complainants a decade apart.
He attended Plymouth Crown Court to plead not guilty to two charges of rape against one woman between 2000 and 2012.
Evans, appearing via videolink from Exeter Prison, also denied six counts of rape against a second woman in 2013 and 2014.
He was remanded in custody until a trial on February 15.

Man who shot Looe woman in head jailed for five years
A MAN has been jailed for five years after he shot a woman in the head with an air rifle at a car park near Looe.
Peter Roberts, 46, of The Willows in Millendreath, shot Daphne Matherson in the head with an air rifle in September 2014 after an argument in his caravan.
At Truro Crown Court today, Judge Simon Carr heard it was not clear how the shooting happened as Miss Matherson could not give evidence on the incident due to her injuries.

Inmate accused of murder in prison near Plymouth faces judge
A PRISONER accused of murdering a fellow inmate at HMP Dartmoor has appeared before a judge for the first time.
William Tolcher, aged 50, allegedly stabbed 37-year-old Alexander Cusworth to death in the prison kitchens on November 26.
He appeared at Bristol Crown Court via a videolink from Exeter Prison for a preliminary hearing.
Tolcher has not yet indicated any plea and no date has been set for any trial.

A MAN with an "appalling criminal record" has been handed a suspended prison sentence after being caught with someone else's bank details.
Police found information about the man's account at the home of 42-year-old Nicholas Heracleous, Plymouth Crown Court heard.
Heracleous and co-defendant Adam Griffin, aged 24, were due to face trial at Plymouth Crown Court.

A MAN has appeared in court accused of abducting one teenage girl and illegally tattooing another.
Jordan Davis, aged 20, allegedly had a child in his home, Plymouth magistrates heard.

AN EXETER City fan who was drunk during the Devon derby at Home Park has been banned from football matches.
Plymouth magistrates excluded 20-year-old Callum Leach from games for the next three years.

A MAN was allegedly caught with heroin with a street value of £43,000, a court has heard.
Colin Reeve, aged 34, was stopped with 440 grams of the drug in his rucksack, Plymouth magistrates were told.
