A WOMAN has told a jury she was driven to attempt suicide at the age of seven because of the neglect of a mother who allowed visitors to sexually abuse her.
She tried to hang herself using her dressing gown belt from her bedroom door, Plymouth Crown Court heard.
The woman told the court her mother regularly locked her in the bedroom for "days at a time".
She added her mother frequently beat her and left them with no food – so that once they were even forced to eat cat food.
