A WELSHMAN who tried to pass off fake Scottish £20 notes in England has avoided going straight to jail "by the skin of his teeth".
Donald Jobe, aged 30, was part of a gang which targeted shops in Plymouth and Torquay, Plymouth Crown Court heard.
He would buy goods which would then be returned for refunds by two accomplices – who would then pay him in heroin.
