A young soldier who has served in Afghanistan has been murdered on the streets of his home town.
Rifleman Dave Curnow, 20, died from head injuries he sustained in a brutal attack in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A member of the public found him unconscious on the ground following an assault outside a nightclub in Redruth, Cornwall at 2.45am.
He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Cornwall Hospital before being transferred to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where he died on Monday.
