The number of drug deaths in Plymouth is at its highest for five years, official figures have revealed.
There were 50 drug related deaths in the city between 2014 and 2016 – almost seven fatalities for every 100,000 people – according to figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
It's the highest number of deaths from drugs since 2009-11. The city's current death rate of 6.8 is substantially above the average figure for England 4.2.
