Massive gorse fires have been burning on Dartmoor this afternoon, sparking a string of calls to the fire brigade.
The fires - which were planned by commoners following advice from fire service experts - remain under control, a spokesman said.
But a Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service officer was arriving at the scene at around 5pm to oversee the blaze.
The fire was pictured by Twitter user Ryan Elsworth as it raged in the early afternoon.
