A homeless alcoholic has told a jury he accidentally caught his partner in the face with a broken wine bottle.Street drinker Wayne Barnes, aged 30, said the bottle smashed as he fought with the woman.He added she lunged at him and the glass made contact with her face as he moved his arms to fend her off.Barnes told Plymouth Crown Court he immediately stepped away when he cut her cheek.He said that he never broke the bottle deliberately and did not push the bottle into her face on purpose.The...
