A PLYMOUTH police officer was forced to smash a car window to rescue a dog which had been being left inside a car in today's heat.
The incident happened in Plymouth city centre as temperatures rose during the afternoon.
The police officer tweeted: "A dog owner has just returned to their vehicle in Plymouth city centre to find a smashed window and an officer holding a very hot dog."
