A DOZY motorist who cut a caravan in half in order to use it as a makeshift trailer found himself in trouble with the police.
Plymouth officers attended a layby on the A38 heading towards Marsh Mills at about midday on Saturday, where they found the modified caravan attached to a broken down car.
PC Pablo Beckhurst found the man was also driving without insurance.
