A MAN attacked a rival who caught him in a bedroom with a woman they had both been seeing, a court heard.
Christopher Parsons, aged 36, punched and kicked the man and broke his nose and eye socket.
Both men were involved with the same woman, Plymouth Crown Court heard.
A judge told Parsons his behaviour was "reprehensible and unacceptable".
But Recorder John Trevaskis said he could suspend the prison term because of the efforts he had taken to overcome his addiction.
