A buzzard found struggling and starved beside a road had to be put to sleep after vets found it had been shot with an air rifle pellet.
It is the fourth found shot during January and whoever is responsbile could be fined up to £5,000 or sent to jail.
The RSPCA is now investigating after finding an air gun pellet embedded in the bird's foot.
