Several major roads in Plymouth city centre were closed this morning following a serious accident which has left a teenage girl in hospital.
The 18-year-old pedestrian was struck by a car near Drake Circus Shopping Centre at shortly after 6.30am today, Christmas Eve, police said.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and is currently in custody at Charles Cross Police Station.
