A MAN set fire to a landing carpet after a drunken argument in a hostel.Mohammed Ahmed, aged 24, appeared in custody at Plymouth Crown Court to admit arson.He damaged the landing carpet by fire at a city Clearsprings bail hostel on August 9.Barrister Jason Beal, for Ahmed, said: "There was an argument and a lot of drink was consumed."Ahmed, of Clifton Street, Greenbank, had denied the more serious alternative charge of arson reckless as to whether life was endangered.The Crown...
