Detectives are appealing for witnesses to an unprovoked assault which left a man with a broken hip.The victim was approached by another man in Well Street, Barnstaple, at about 11pm on Friday, April 22, and asked for a cigarette, drink or money.When the victim said he did not have any of the items requested, he was grabbed by the offender and pushed up against the wall.He was then thrown to the floor and kicked to the head and body, sustaining serious injuries.The man, in his 50s and from...
