NEARLY 2,000 people tried to become police officers with Devon and Cornwall after the force opened applications – for just 36 hours.
The force announced it would accept registers of interest over a two day period earlier this week for the post of Police Constables as it began its latest recruitment drive.
The force said it expected a "high level of applications" and as the there were limited spaces available, it would be "a highly competitive process".
